1991 Red Honda CRX Si
With Nancy finally off jack stands, we were super stoked to see how our 91 Honda CRX Si looked with a slightly lower stance. Unfortunately we weren't quite done...

If you recall from our Koni installation post, we wanted to go for a slightly lower "factory" look. The theory was to use our stock springs while utilizing Koni's lower perch setting. As you can see from the above image, it worked on the front but not in the rear.

Heres another angle. Yes, the rear struts are set to Koni's lowest setting.

The only thing left to do at this point is to take out the front shocks and move the perch up to its "stock" setting. This will raise the front of the car and balance out the rear, thus closing the wheel gap.

One last shot before it goes back up on jack stands. So for those of you planning on just replacing your worn out struts with Koni Yellows, make sure the rears are at the lowest setting and the fronts are set to the highest.

We'll report back shortly for what we hope will be the final post about shocks. Stay tuned!

You can always cut another lower grove into the rear shocks. Of course that may mean you bottom out quicker against the shock mounts

I have a '90 Si that I've owned since '91. I've been using the Koni Sports since about 2000 (17 year old shocks now!) and I, too, found out the hard way the the lowest perch setting in the rear approximates the factory ride height. This has been true with 3 different sets of springs, including the OEM springs.

I found it fascinating that your side-by-side photo comparison of OEM vs Koni perch location clearly showed the Koni as having a lower perch, yet, when all is said and done, the ride height ends up being stock.
