One of the most common leaks in a high mileage car comes from the worn out gasket of the oil pan. Nancy was no different. As soon as we got under the car, we found an extremely dirty pan with a couple of missing oil pan bolts - definitely signs of an oil leak that was probably ignored by the previous owner.

Before removing the oil pan, a few components had to be unbolted. This included the flywheel cover and exhaust manifold brackets. You can see how much caked up oil the parts collected over time.

With a bit of elbow grease and a lot of Simple Green (1:1 dilution for maximum strength), we were able get these parts cleaned up pretty nicely.
