Back in a pre-smartphone world, the CR-X represented freedom and fun. It was the car you took to to the beach and to your school dance. You learned how to change your oil with this car and hell you probably got your first speeding ticket as well. Our goal is to bring back those memories. We don't build cars. We build time machines. |
We restore 90-91 CR-X Si's to as close to showroom condition as possible. And while we add a few upgrades to enhance the driving experience, we make absolutely sure not to compromise the original feel and excitement that Honda intended for the car.
Drivetrain
In a world where minivans have over 300 horsepower, building the fastest car isn't a priority. Retaining the original engine and transmission allows for a purer nostalgic driving experience. To add a bit of acceleration and improve drivability, we may explore adding a carb legal exhaust system, limited-slip differential and shorter gearing in our "performance restoration". Suspension All suspension components including bolts, bushings, and joints are inspected. The 25 year old oem shocks, springs, and brakes are replaced with proven, track-tested brands like Eibach, Koni and Stoptech. |
Exterior
The compact shape and sharp lines of the CRX are something special. Our cars go through a robust paint process that ultimately brings the vehicle back to its original showroom shine. Interior So much of a car's feel is based on the everyday touch points of the interior. It's important for us to retain the original seats, steering wheel, shift knob and pedals. Bolsters are replaced, fabrics are upgraded, and all plastics are reconditioned. Electronics The lighting system, climate control, and audio system are inspected and if needed, replaced with genuine OEM parts. |
Wheels & Tires
The team at RestorationCRX will be sticking to the original OEM 14" alloy wheels and along with the center caps, will be completely refinished. Tires choices, although limited, will either be the Dunlop Direzza or Falken Azenis.
